Understanding the replay workspace

Last Updated: August 23, 2026

Learn the chart, rails, and main actions in the backtesting replay workspace.

The backtesting replay workspace is a simulated historical market replay—not live trading. You practice on past candles and place simulated trades. You will typically see:

  • Top-left chart toolbar: Back, then Current Asset, then timeframe controls
  • Back — opens save/exit options when you leave the session
  • Current Asset — opens supported asset switching for markets included in this session
  • The main chart
  • Replay transport bar (play, pause, step, speed, Bar Replay, Place Order, End Session)
  • Right replay sidebar: Order, Bookmarks, Notes, and Timeline
  • Account / trade area for open positions, pending orders, and closed trades

Start with Start Replay when the chart is ready, then place simulated trades as price unfolds.
